ITA - Ci sono luoghi che sembrano esistere ai margini del tempo. Periferie silenziose, spazi abbandonati, territori sospesi tra presenza e assenza. È in questi paesaggi che prende forma Intorno al Branco, un viaggio all'interno dell'omonimo progetto scultoreo che esplora la natura delle relazioni umane attraverso la metafora del branco.
L'origine del progetto nasce da un'esperienza semplice e universale: osservare un gruppo di cani avvicinarsi in cerca di cibo. In quella presenza compatta e imprevedibile Velasco ha riconosciuto qualcosa di profondamente umano. Il branco diventa così simbolo di appartenenza, gerarchia, protezione e conflitto, riflettendo le dinamiche che attraversano ogni comunità.
Le sculture abitano luoghi marginali e portano il nome di città fantasma, evocando il desiderio dell'uomo di costruire, abitare e lasciare una traccia del proprio passaggio. Sono frammenti di una civiltà immaginaria che nasce, si trasforma e infine scompare.
Realizzate con materiali recuperati da costruzioni abusive, queste opere custodiscono le tracce di storie dimenticate e trovano una nuova forma attraverso l'arte.
Intorno al Branco è un racconto visivo che attraversa paesaggi, simboli e memorie, invitandoci a riflettere sul sottile confine tra individuo e collettività, tra paura e appartenenza.
ENG -There are places that seem to exist on the edge of time. Silent outskirts, abandoned spaces, landscapes suspended between presence and absence. It is within these territories that Around the Pack takes shape, a cinematic journey through the sculptural project Branco, exploring human relationships through the metaphor of the pack.
The project originated from a simple and universal experience: watching a group of dogs approach in search of food. In their compact and unpredictable presence, Velasco recognized something deeply human. The pack becomes a symbol of belonging, hierarchy, protection, and conflict, reflecting the dynamics that shape every community.
The sculptures inhabit marginal spaces and are named after ghost towns, evoking humanity's enduring desire to build, inhabit, and leave a trace behind. They become fragments of an imaginary civilization that is born, evolves, and eventually disappears.
Created from reclaimed materials taken from unauthorized constructions, the works carry the memory of forgotten stories and transform them into new forms through art.
Around the Pack is a visual exploration of landscapes, symbols, and memories, inviting us to reflect on the delicate boundary between the individual and the collective, between fear and belonging.
